While working on mechanical engineering teams that involve a lot of moving parts and complex assemblies, it is extremely useful (I've found) to have a simple viewer system to look at the intricacies of the assembly. I developed a viewer that breaks down every object in an assembly and allows you to isolate parts and view them. A demo of this application is shown below
